Pharmacology

Field Description

The field of Pharmacology offers an intensive program of study and research, emphasizing, the biochemical, biophysical, molecular, and clinical aspects of pharmacology. Current areas of research include drug-receptor interactions, ion channels, signal transduction, and cell activation. The field prepares each student for a productive career in biomedical research and teaching. As a member of the Biomedical and Biological Sciences Graduate Program (BBS), Pharmacology is part of a vibrant graduate community in the Veterinary College. The program is uniquely positioned to train students in pharmacology through its integration of biomedical science expertise in a veterinary college with outstanding physical and biological science programs on a single campus.
