2009-10 TuitionResearch programs (M.A., M.S., M.S./Ph.D., Ph.D.), M.F.A., D.M.A., and Non-Degree Students - Tuition for research degree programs is set for each field at one of two rates. For 2009-10, the higher rate (formerly the "endowed college" rate) will remain constant at $29,500. The lower rate (formerly the "contract college" rate) will remain constant at $20,800. Professional degree programs - CIPA, FALCON, M.Arch I and II, M.Eng., MMH, MPS Africana Studies, M.P.S. Applied Statistics, and M.P.S. Real Estate tuition will increase 4 percent to $18,875 per semester or $37,750 for the academic year. Three-semester 12-month programs are $56,675.
- M.A.T., M.F.S., M.H.A., M.I.L.R., M.L.A., M.P.S. (except M.P.S. Africana Studies, M.P.S. Applied Statistics, M.P.S. Real Estate, and M.P.S. ILR NYC) and M.R.P. tuition will increase 4 percent to $12,350 per semester or $24,700 for an academic year.
StipendsAssistantships The minimum assistantship stipend for the nine-month academic year will be $21,400 for 2009-10. The minimum stipend for a 12-month assistantship appointment will be $28,533. Assistantships paying a stipend of at least $21,400 plus full tuition also include individual student health insurance (SHIP). The maximum academic-year stipend that a student may receive when any portion of the stipend is funded by Cornell is $36,150. There is no cap on summer stipends.
GRAs may accept employment of up to eight hours per week during their GRA assignments. RAs, TAs, and GAs may accept employment of up to five hours per week during their assignments if the combination of employment and assistantship does not exceed 20 hours per week. Pay for this employment should not exceed $10,700 for the academic year.
Graduate School/Cornell Fellowships - Humanities and Social Science fields -- the nine-month, academic-year fellowship stipend in the Humanities and Social Sciences will be $21,400 for 2009-10. Summer support in the Social Science fields is projected at $4,400 in the social science fields and $4,600 in the humanities fields for Summer 2010. Fellowships include tuition and individual student health insurance in addition to the stipend.
- Biological Science and Physical Science fields -- the nine-month, academic-year fellowship stipend in the Biological and Physical Science fields will be $24,800 for 2009-10. Fellowships include tuition and individual student health insurance in addition to the stipend.
Student Activity FeeThe Graduate Student Activity Fee will remain at $70 ($35 per semester) for 2009-10.
Student Health InsuranceThe 2009-10 health insurance rates are $1,590 for individual students, $3,440 for dependent spouse or same-sex partner, $2,154 for dependent children, $271 for the optional dental plan, and $148 for the optional vision plan.
