Final Revisions and Committee Approval

After taking your exam and receiving preliminary approval of the content of your thesis/dissertation from your committee, you are ready to begin the final revision and approval process. Once you have made any necessary changes and the thesis/dissertation is final, complete the following steps:

  1. Submit a final copy of the thesis/dissertation to each member of your committee for review and approval. This step is required before you can request formal committee approval.
  2. Request formal committee approval using the Thesis and Dissertation Approval System. A Thesis/Dissertation Approval document will be emailed to you once all committee members have approved the thesis/dissertation.
  3. Complete the Survey of Earned Doctorates (for Doctoral students only). A SED Certification of Completion will be provided to you when the survey has been completed.

Once formal committee approval is received and the survey completed, the final electronic version of the thesis/dissertation (ETD) can then be submitted to The Graduate School.
