Is there anyone who can help me with the Soros fellowship application?

Date: September 2017

Question

Dear Graduate School Deans,

I am applying for the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans. Is there anyone who can help me with the application and essay revision?

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Aspiring Fellowship Applicant

Response

Dear Aspiring Fellowship Applicant,

How wonderful you are applying for the Soros Fellowship! Soros is a very prestigious fellowship.

We have several ways to support your fellowship writing, including providing feedback for your revising.

I see that the Soros application deadline is November 1, so one good and timely resource is our Graduate School peer review and consultation sessions on October 3 (11:00 am to 6:00 pm) and October 4 (11:00 am to 5:00 pm). Come to 341 Caldwell on one of those days for a review of your fellowship draft.

The Graduate Writing Service also offers feedback on writing projects, including fellowship applications. You may schedule an appointment on MyWCOnline.

Also, I see that Soros offers several good resources to help applicants. Their first weekly webinar is tomorrow, and they provide an online guide with advice from former fellowship recipients on writing the required essays.

I wish you much success with your application!

Best,

Jan
