Costs and Funding

The Graduate School takes great pride in supporting a majority of its doctoral students – whether through fellowships, assistantships, or grants.

Our competitive funding package includes tuition, fees, health insurance, and a living allowance or stipend for 97% of on-campus students in research Ph.D. programs.

Each year, Cornell’s top-notch doctoral students receive EPA, NASA, NSF, Fulbright, and other prestigious national awards in addition to a significant number of research training grants and national research grants administered by individual faculty.

Stipends are set at a rate that assures a comfortable standard of living in Ithaca. The terms of the award may vary according to field of study. For additional information, please contact your field of study.

Research master's and professional degree programs at Cornell provide limited financial assistance. Again, the terms of the awards may vary according to the program. For more information, please contact the individual professional program.
