Managing Expectations & Recalibrating Your Standards

April 3, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

  • This event has passed.

As you have been managing the sheer magnitude of what is going on in the world around you, let alone the impact that COVID-19 has had on your academic progress and life, join us for a candid conversation about coping strategies that include managing expectations, and where appropriate, lowering your standards, and what this can look like for graduate students.  In recognition that your own level of productivity and wellness have already been impacted because most of us aren’t functioning at 100% (and that is okay!), this session will focus on resources to help you manage your standards and expectations right now!

We will use excerpts from the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity’s video, “Lowering Your Standards” with Dr. Kerry Ann Rockquemore, PhD, President of the NCFDD to provide content, which will be followed by a facilitated discussion.

Accommodations: We strive to make our events accessible to all community members. Individuals who would like to request accessibility accommodations should provide these details in the registration form and contact al546@cornell.edu.  We ask that requests be made at least one week in advance to help ensure they can be met.
