Teaching and Learning in the Diverse Classroom Begins
- This event has passed.
Running from May 26 – June 16, 2020, Teaching and Learning in the Diverse Classroom is an online course designed for Cornell instructors, with the goal of building confidence to address challenges and communicate effectively with students across difference. To this end, Teaching and Learning in the Diverse Classroom explores strategies for inclusive course design and pedagogical practices that effectively support student engagement.
The course features student and faculty voices and stories, activities, readings, and opportunities for discussion with peers within the Cornell community. In addition to inclusive course design and teaching strategies, participants will be invited to reflect on their own formative experiences as learners, teachers, and members of disciplines.
The Spring 2020 course will run from May 26 – June 16, 2020. For spring, the Center for Teaching Innovation is also offering two online learning community options:
- Faculty may join the Online Faculty Learning Community for Inclusive Teaching
- Graduate Students & Postdocs may join the Online Learning Community on Inclusive Teaching For Graduate Students & Postdocs co-sponsored by Future Faculty and Academic Careers
If you are planning to join one of the learning communities, please register for the learning community instead (your learning community registration will automatically register you for Teaching and Learning in the Diverse Classroom).
