DESCRIPTION:Advance registration is required to participate in this space-limited program. \nThis interactive workshop invites you to reflect and connect with graduate students and postdocs to share knowledge\, explore how and why social identities come into play in the learning environment\, consider how to remove barriers and increase accessibility\, and create a plan to support the learning of all students. This institute consists of two in-person sessions on Friday\, October 16\, from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and Friday\, October 23\, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  \nSponsored by the Center for Teaching Innovation and the Future Faculty and Academic Careers program in the Graduate School. Join Erica Machulak\, PhD for a practical conversation about recognizing the value of your academic expertise\, exploring career possibilities\, and using entrepreneurial thinking to create opportunities. Whether you are considering entrepreneurship or simply looking for new ways to shape your career\, this session will help you think creatively about how your skills\, interests\, and ideas can translate beyond the traditional academic path. \nErica  founded Hikma to help clients bring complex ideas to new contexts. She has a decade of experience designing and teaching courses and workshops for students\, faculty\, and other professionals.
