This seminar provides an overview of how you can create a professional resume from your multi-page academic CV. 

  • Preparing for the Career Fair: Strategies for Graduate Students and Postdocs

This interactive presentation outlines the purpose of career fairs, strategies to make the most of your time at the fair, and resources to help you prepare for this event.

  • Exploring Careers Outside of Academia

This seminar provides a comprehensive summary of resources available for the non-academic job search.

  • Expanding Your Job-Search Skills

This full-day workshop, limited to PhD students and postdocs, addresses all of the steps you need to take for your non-academic job search: identifying your transferable skills, approaching your job search as a research project, developing your resume and cover letter, using Cornell tools and databases to find employers and jobs, and interviewing successfully.


Workshops that address the US job search for international students include:

  • US Job-Search Tips and Work Authorization for International Students and Postdocs

Provides an overview work authorization needs as well as common challenges and potential solutions for international students and postdocs in their US job search.

  • Interviewing Skills for International Students and Postdocs

In this seminar, you will learn about common interview approaches, questions, and techniques to be successful in your US job interview.
