SUMMARY:Using ImaginePhD to Explore Careers for Arts\, Humanities\, and Social Sciences Ph.D.s
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThis interactive workshop introduces Ph.D. students in the arts\, humanities\, and social sciences to tools and strategies for exploring careers beyond tenure-track faculty positions. Participants will use ImaginePhD to reflect on their values\, interests\, and skills; identify potential career options; and learn how to translate academic experiences into language used in nonacademic job searches. SUMMARY:Purpose\, Leadership\, and Humanities Panel
DESCRIPTION:What can leadership look like for humanities PhDs beyond the traditional academic path? Join Daniella Sarnoff and Julianne Gilland for a conversation about building purposeful careers\, taking on leadership roles\, and bringing humanistic perspectives to work in cultural\, global\, and mission-driven organizations. Panelists will share how their doctoral training has shaped their careers\, leadership approaches\, and contributions beyond the academy. \nFeatured Panelists: \n \nDaniella Sarnoff\, PhD | Director\, Global Scholars and Fellowships at Columbia Global \nDaniella joined Columbia World Project in July 2022 after over a decade at the Social Science Research Council (SSRC)\, directing the International Dissertation Research Fellowship Program\, as well as other programs supporting scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Daniella holds a PhD in European history and works on extremist politics in interwar France. Before her work at the SSRC she taught history at Xavier University\, Fordham University\, and New York University. She has published in journals and in edited volumes on the topics of French fascism\, women’s suffrage\, and gender and fascism.  \n \nJulianne Gilland\, PhD | Deputy Director and Interim Director of Curatorial Affairs at Colby College Museum of Art. \nBio coming soon! \nWhere: Guerlac Room\, A.D.
