MAC Mentoring Program

MAC (Multicultural Academic Council) is a graduate student organization focused on ensuring that doctoral students, especially those from backgrounds historically underrepresented in academia, can connect with peer mentors and develop positive strategies for excelling academically and personally throughout their graduate career and beyond.

Mentor Information

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Attend an introductory orientation and training workshop on 9/17/19 from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm.
  • Attend monthly lunches from 11:30am-1pm on 9/24/19, 10/29/19, 11/20/19, 1/28/20, and 2/18/20
  • Be available, accessible, and approachable to mentees

Eligibility

  • Currently-enrolled full-time doctoral student or postdoctoral fellow/associate
  • Must have completed at least two years in your graduate program

 

Mentee Information

MAC invites first and second year doctoral students to apply to participate in the MAC Mentoring Program as mentees, which brings senior graduate students and post doc together with beginning graduate students for monthly discussion sessions focused on common issues faced by beginning graduate students

Mentee Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly lunches from 11:30am-1pm on 9/24/19, 10/29/19, 11/20/19, 1/28/20, and 2/18/20

Eligibility

  • Currently-enrolled full-time, first and second year doctoral students
