The Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives holds an annual reception to recognize outstanding student, staff, faculty and alumni/ae achievements and contributions to our growing community of engaged scholar-leaders.

General Information

• The nominees must be nominated by faculty, staff, students, administrators, or local community partners.
• Award recipients are selected by the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives (OADI) Honors Awards Committee, which is comprised of OADI staff and Student Assistants.
• A maximum of ten awards will be presented each year, and only a single award will be presented in each category.
• The nominees may not receive a OADI Honors Award for two consecutive years.
• Semifinalists must attend the OADI Honors Awards ceremony.

Awards Selection

• Nominations will be reviewed by the OADI Honors Awards Committee, which is comprised of faculty, OADI staff and Student Assistants.
• Only a single award will be presented per category.
• Campaigning for votes will disqualify nominees for OADI Honors Awards. Campaigning by the nominee or via proxy, includes but is not limited to: banners, flyers, social media posts, mass emails, and similar forms of publicity.
• Dr. A.T. Miller, Associate Vice Provost for Academic Diversity, and OADI staff members will screen final nominations to achieve balance of nominee pool based upon program, college, race/ethnicity, major, gender, etc.
• Award recipients are selected by the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives (OADI) Honors Awards Committee, which is comprised of OADI staff and Student Assistants.
• Semifinalists (and the selected recipient) must be present at OADI Honors in order to be recognized.
