“Humble Hope” featuring works by Haley Rylander. 

Haley is an MS student studying reduced tillage on small-scale organic vegetable farms. Her passion for plants competes with numerous other activities, such as running, juggling, riding horses, hanging on trapezes, and obsessing over fantasy literature. While she has chosen to spend her life studying plants, she also loves animals – one of her favorite photography subjects. Haley is from Texas and relates to many students in Ithaca who find the endless dark and icy winters a drain on joy and motivation. This photo series embodies the humble humor of bears and wolves, who find fun amidst gloom, peace amidst cold, and hope amidst darkness. We could all learn to make the most of dreary circumstances and live each moment with a smile.
