Weeklong Lineup to Aid Career Discovery
January 12, 2026
Join us February 2–6 for the Pathways to Success: Career Discovery Series, a dynamic weeklong series of in-person and virtual events designed to help you explore career opportunities and foster your professional development. In previous years, the Graduate School hosted the one-day Pathways to Success Symposium—but this year, we’re introducing an exciting new format to give you even more ways to connect, learn, and grow.
Whether students are considering careers adjacent to academia, roles in industry, or something in between, this series will help participants navigate evolving options with confidence. Highlights include:
- Informal industry discussions with alumni across sectors, including:
- Public sector careers: Government, policy, and international affairs
- Science careers in industry
- Education, teaching, and academic-adjacent careers
- Careers in social and environmental policy
- Science-informed business and sustainability careers
- Communication and creative careers
- Careers in AI and entrepreneurship
- Careers in consulting, strategy, and organizational effectiveness
- Workshop on entrepreneurship and consulting
- Drop-in career advising sessions
- Community keynote with Vicki Johnson, Ph.D., author of “Pitch Your Potential”
Graduate students and postdocs are invited to pick and choose any workshops, conversations, and sessions that fit their interests or attend the entire series.
