Pathways to Success
About Pathways to Success
Pathways to Success is designed to help graduate and professional students and postdoctoral scholars be successful throughout their time at Cornell and into their future careers. Programming is organized into the following thematic focus areas: Navigate Academia, Build Your Skills, Create Your Plan, Prepare for Your Career.
Programming sponsored by Offices of Graduate Student Life, Academic and Student Affairs, Inclusion and Student Engagement, and Postdoctoral Studies), CU-CIRTL, Center for Teaching Innovation, Career Services, English Language Support Office, and the Cornell BEST Program.
Build Your Skills
Build key skills for current and future success in communications, leadership and managment, ethics and integrity, balance and resilience, teaching and mentoring, and community building and networking.
Create Your Plan
To stay on track in Graduate School, it's important to create a plan that is grounded in a thorough understanding of yourself, that identifies goals and timelines, and that includes a mechanism for periodically reflecting on your progress and reevaluating your goals.
Prepare for Your Career
The Cornell Career Services Career Development model has three stages: understand yourself, explore options, and take action. It's important to begin this process soon after you arrive on campus.
