Graduate Assistantship Position

January 24 update: We have filled the position for spring 2024 and are seeking a GA for fall 2024.

The Graduate School is launching a new opportunity for doctoral students interested in gaining administrative leadership experience in higher education. We are offering a graduate assistantship (GA) in the Fall 2024 semester for one graduate student to work with the associate dean for academics, Josephine Martell, on a Cornell-wide project to update graduate field handbooks. The GA will also work closely with directors of graduate studies (DGS) in the fields and other graduate students. Students should have strong communication skills, excellent writing skills, a good understanding of policy, and strong relationship building skills. Students will be expected to commit 15 hours per week, and a hybrid work schedule is allowed. GA funding term is up to one semester initially, with potential for extension. Stipend, tuition, and SHP are provided.

Interested students should send Josephine (jem522@cornell.edu) an email detailing their interest in the project and their qualifications, a CV or resume, and the name and contact information of at least one reference. Students also need to confirm they have not committed to another source of funding for the spring semester. References will not be contacted without prior notification.
