Computer Science and Statistics Ph.D. Candidates Win 3MT Competition
For the first time in Graduate School history, two doctoral candidates tied for first place in the eighth Cornell Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, held on March 30, on Zoom. Yurong You, a doctoral candidate in computer science, and Kim Hochstedler, a doctoral candidate in statistics, wowed the judges and took home co-first place for their presentations.
Improving Graduate Education Experience a Focus for New Associate Dean for Academics
The Graduate School’s new Associate Dean for Academics, Josephine Martell, Ph.D. ’22, may be new to the Grad School, but she brings over 20 years of professional experience at Cornell to her role, including five years as a staff member at Cornell and as a graduate student. Martell began her new position on March 27.

Shyam Raman is a doctoral candidate in public policy from Valparaiso, Indiana. He attended Indiana University as an undergraduate and now studies how people respond to the implementation of public policies at Cornell.
